Benthic; depth: intertidal (McAllister 1975), adults as shallow as 3 m (10 ft) or less (Ennis 1970) to 550 m (1,804 ft) (Mecklenburg et al. 2018). All information other than maximum length and maximum depth from Mecklenburg et al. (2002).
