Sagami Bay, Pacific coast of central Honshu, Japan (Mecklenburg 2003), to south of Commander–Aleutian chain, and southern Gulf of Alaska (Mecklenburg et al. 2002), to Monterey Bay, central California (Eschmeyer and Herald 1983).
