Holtbyrnia latifrons Sazonov, 1976. Streaklight Tubeshoulder or Teardrop Tubeshoulder . To 25 cm (9.8 in) SL (Sazonov et al. 1993). Western Bering Sea; Gulf of Alaska (Mecklenburg et al. 2002) to Chile (Matsui and Rosenblatt 1987). Mesopelagic and bathypelagic; depth: 59–1,400 m (193–4,620 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Sazonov et al. 1993).
