Engraulis japonicus Temminck & Schlegel, 1846. Japanese Anchovy . To about 16 cm (6.3 in) SL (Lindberg and Legeza 1965). western Pacific Ocean north to south-eastern Kamchatka; one record from Alaska, south of western Aleutian Islands (Mecklenburg et al. 2002).
