Locally distributed in Europe along coast and inland halophytic habitats, eastwards through C Asia to Mongolia; N Africa (Povolný 2002). A male labled “ Russia, Altaisky Kray, 53°20’N 84°10’E, 30 km E Barnaul, Losiha river, 17.VII.2001, K. Nupponen leg.” represents the first record of S. salinella from Siberia. Remarks. The population in the southern Urals belong to spp. salicorniae (E.
