Remarks: It was remarkable that all Colombian specimens have a conical base and a very thin theca. No major differences were observed among the Colombian specimens and those described by Cairns (1979) and Zibrowius (1980). Distribution: Amphi-atlantic distribution, tropical and sub-tropical, from the South Carolina coast to off the Amazon River delta, and from Portugal to Cape Verde Islands; 183–1000 m (Cairns 1979; Zibrowius 1980). In Colombia, D. eccentricus has been collected from off Portete Bay (La Guajira) to the Gulf of Morrosquillo; 270–500 m depth.
