Neotrombicula (Hirsutiella), Vercammen-Grandjean 1981: 91; Vercammen-Grandjean & Kolebinova 1985: 75. Type species: Trombicula zachvatkini Schluger, 1948, by original designation. Diagnosis. SIF = 7BS-B(N)-3-2111.1000; fPp = B/B/BBB, B/B/BNB; fCx = 1.1.1; fSt = 2.2(4); Ip = 842–1341; NDV = 123–271. Galeala branched (nude in H. creta ). Eyes 2 + 2 (in H. creta , 1 + 1). Scutum nearly hexagonal, with convex posterior margin; sensillary bases lie posterior to level of PLs (sometimes at level), near posterior scutal margin. Flagelliform sensilla with few branches in middle part or nude. Four humeral setae; first and second rows of dorsal idiosomal setae double or triple. Hosts. Small mammals (mainly rodents), rarely birds. Distribution. Europe, Asia Minor, Caucasus, Transcaucasia, Kazakhstan, Western Siberia. Species included.
