Newman & Ross (1971) (as Arcoscalpellum buccinum sp. nov.) and Foster (1978). Distribution. Indian Ocean, Eastern and Western; Pacific, Southwest and Western Central; Atlantic, Southeast and Eastern central. Known depth range 110 to 2397 m. Remarks. This species is known from several widely dispersed locations and shows a great degree of apparent intraspecific variability.
