Mandible molar process with irregular edge but without tubercles and teeth. Maxillipedal endites lack distal tubercles. Chelae smaller than carpus, tapering distally. Pereopods 4–6 merus and carpus with two large specialized hooks, propodus with two long spiniform setae in the distal part of ventral margin, unguis tip trifurcate. Etymology: Named after the large spiniform-setae on pereopods 4–6: hamatus [lat.] = bearing hooks; pedes [lat.] = legs. Type species: Hamatipeda trapezoida n. sp. Gender of generic name: Feminine. Species included : Hamatipeda (= Typhlotanais ) longa (Kudinova-Pasternak, 1975); H. trapezoida n. sp. Remarks: Hamatipeda n. gen. lacks prickly tubercles in pereopods 4–6 but, because it also lacks a cheliped 'side piece' and the climbing character of pereopods 4–6 is evident, it is included into the family Typhlotanaidae as was Obesutanais . : Published as part of Błażewicz-Paszkowycz, Magdalena, 2007, Figure 6.
