Description
Summary:Trianguloscalpellum hirsutum (Hoek, 1883) Fig. 29 Scalpellum hirsutum Hoek, 1883: 88, pl. IV, fig.19; Gruvel, 1905: 66, fig.74; Pilsbry, 1907a: 25. Arcoscalpellum hirsutum : Newman & Ross, 1971: 62–64, fig. 28. Trianguloscalpellum hirsutum : Zevina, 1981a: 309, fig. 233; Chan et al. , 2009: 119–121, figs 100–102; Jones, 2012: 371, 376. Material examined. None – the holotype is lost, Stn 196: Pacific, Western Central (Molucca Sea); 1508 m. Supplementary descriptions. Newman & Ross (1971) and Chan et al. (2009). Distribution. Pacific, Western Central and Southeast. Known depth range 1508 to 1965 m. Habitat. On rocks and gastropod shells. Remarks. Newman & Ross (1971) tentatively related this species to the Arcoscalpellum michelottianum group. In the absence of the holotype, a neotype designation may help to establish and stabilise the systematic position of this species. : Published as part of Shalaeva, Kate & Boxshall, Geoff, 2014, An illustrated catalogue of the scalpellid barnacles (Crustacea: Cirripedia: Scalpellidae) collected during the HMS " Challenger " expedition and deposited in the Natural History Museum, London, pp. 1-63 in Zootaxa 3804 (1) on page 44, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.3804.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/4917932 : {"references": ["Hoek, P.
