description Munida microphthalma A. Milne-Edwards, 1880 Munida microphthalma A. Milne-Edwards, 1880: 51 [ part. ]. Material examined. None. Distribution. Western Atlantic— USA (Virginia), Gulf of Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Martinique, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Brazil (Espírito Santo, São Paulo); Eastern Atlantic— Greenland, Porcupine Abyssal Plain, Biscay Bay, Morocco, Cape Verde, Ascension Island (Melo 1999; Melo-Filho & Melo 2001a; Lalana et al. 2004). Remarks. This species is collected between 667 and 2165 m depth (Melo-Filho & Melo 2001a), but according to Chace (1942), it can occur from 195 m. We were able only to obtain sequences of a specimen from off the Espírito Santo coast deposited in the MZUSP, which may be useful in future comparisons. Sequences accession numbers (GenBank): MZUSP 16717—16S (MF490159), COI (MF490055) (Mantelatto et al. 2018). : Published as part of Mantelatto, Fernando L., Miranda, Ivana, Vera-Silva, Ana L., Negri, Mariana, Buranelli, Raquel C., Terossi, Mariana, Magalhães, Tatiana, Costa, Rogério C., Zara, Fernando J. & Castilho, Antonio L., 2021, Checklist of decapod crustaceans from the coast of the São Paulo state (Brazil) supported by integrative molecular and morphological data: IV.
