Larsen, 2005; 260. Remarks. A very charismatic and distinctive abyssal species, which has been linked to a possible symbiotic relationship with holothurians such as Amperima rosea, Deima validum and Oneirophanta mutabilis (Thurston et al 1987). Formerly part of the Family Leptognathiidae sensu Sieg, 1973, and latterly in the sub-family Leptognathiinae (Anarthruridae) it was excluded after a phylogenetic analysis (Larsen & Wilson 2002).
