Hirstionyssus gudauricus — Senotrusova 1982: 11, figs 4–5; Senotrusova 1987: 100, figs 48, 49; Goncharova et al . 1991: 70; Mašán & Fend’a 2010: 132, figs 132–138. Hirstionyssus tatricus Mrciak 1958: 84. Hirstionyssus tatricus — Uchikawa 1974: 266, figs 5–7. Echinonyssus gudauricus — Tenorio 1984: 269. Echinonyssus tatricus — Tenorio 1984: 278. Type locality : Georgia, Kazbeghi District, vicinities of the villages of Kobi, Suatisi. Type series : ZIN and the Department of Zoology of the North-Ossetian Pedagogical Institute (Vladikavkaz, Russia). Type host : Chionomys gud (Satunin, 1909), the Gudaur vole. Host range : H . gudauricus infests hosts belonging to varied vole genera ( Alticola , Chionomys , Clethrionomys , Microtus ); sometimes is collected from shrews (Razumova 1957; Senotrusova 1987; Mašán & Fend’a 2010). It seems that no species can be considered as the chief host of this generalist parasite. Distribution : Northern and Central Europe, Caucasus, Kazakhstan, Western and Eastern Siberia (Senotrusova, 1987; Nikulina 2004; Huhta 2016); mostly in high mountain regions (Senotrusova 1987).
