Eudendrium generale von Lendenfeld, 1885 Eudendrium generale — Puce et al., 2002: 368–370, fig. 2, fig. 3A, B; Peña Cantero, 2009: 1745; Peña Cantero et al., 2013: 736, figs 2e, 3c–e; Soto Àngel & Peña Cantero, 2015: 984–985, fig. 2c–e. Material examined. Stn 102, one colony with few stems, up to 5 mm high, on gravel (NIWA 117478). Remarks. The polyps are red and small and their tentacles have a thorny appearance. The cnidome consists of larger (12–13 x 6–7 µm) and smaller (6.5– 7 x 3 µm) microbasic euryteles. Ecology and distribution. In Antarctic waters, a shelf species found at depths between 10 (Puce et al. 2002) and 702 m (Peña Cantero 2009); present material at 536 m, epilithic on gravel. Epibiont on polychaete tube and sponge (Soto Àngel & Peña Cantero 2015) and basibiont for other hydroids (Peña Cantero 2009; Peña Cantero et al. 2013).
