Order Squaliformes Family Squalidae According to Ebert & Stehmann (2013), three species of the genus Squalus are recognized in the North Atlantic ( S. acanthias , S. blainvillei and S. megalops ), but S. blainvillei and S. megalops may represent a species complex.
