Habitat Intertidal, subtidal, 20–100 m in coarse shell sand, shell gravel, sometimes in brackish water (Baltic Sea), tolerating a wide range of salinity (11–35 ppt). Distribution Baltic Sea, Iceland (see Rota & Erséus 2003), North Sea (Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium), France, Norway and Sweden.
