CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Ornithomya Latreille, 1802 or subsequent usage of Ornithomyia Fischer von Waldheim, 1808. FAMILY: HIPPOBOSCIDAE. REMARKS: Criteria to make this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in these works. The earliest mention of Ornithomya Latreille, 1802 that I have found in this study using the spelling “ Ornithomyia ” is Ornithomyia Fischer von Waldheim, 1808 as an unjustified emendation [ teste Evenhuis et al.
