Lanceola loveni grossipes Shoemaker, 1945 Southwest Atlantic: 301868 , 6/348, [54°40’S 58°58’W], 644 m. Remarks : This is a relatively rare sub-species of L. loveni , previously known only from the North Atlantic and North Pacific oceans, mainly from tropical waters. The type material came from depths of about 1000–2000 m but specimens have also been recorded from depths of 150–250 m (Zeidler 2009). This is the first record from the Southern Hemisphere and the Southern Ocean, from great depth.
