They occur everywhere, from the tundra to the tropics. These are among the most productive ecosystems, besides being a rich repository of biodiversity and are known to play a significant role in carbon sequestration. They play key role in maintaining water balance, flood prevention, biodiversity and support food security and livelihoods. Wetlands Conservation has to be taken up as a crusade at district, State, national, regional, and global levels for the welfare of present and future generations. In this review paper brief idea about various Wetlands their importance, threats and management aspects has been enlightened.
