Summary: | This code release (github repository) is used for analysing nine arctic atmopsheric river (AR) events over the North Atlantic gateway from last decade. These ARs are analysed from an airborne perspective. Lacking real observations, synthetic flights are created, and observations by airborne dropsondes are mimicked by collocated reanalysis data from ERA5 and CARRA. This code is used to create the content of the ACP publication Dorff et al., 2024: Observability of Moisture Transport Divergence in Arctic Atmospheric Rivers by Dropsondes.
