Description
Summary:The data provided is related to a published study (Fabri-Ruiz et al., 2020) that aimed to conduct a benthic ecoregionalization of the Southern Ocean (SO) for the first time, utilizing abiotic environmental parameters and the distribution of echinoid fauna. This approach involves a two-step process, combining species distribution modeling with Random Forest and Gaussian Mixture modeling to define current ecoregions and predict future ecoregions under different Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) scenarios (RCP 4.5 and 8.5). We provide here individual ecological niche model outputs for each echinoid species for the current and future periods (RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5) and ecoregions for the current and future periods (RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5).
