Summary:Glaciologic map, Satellite image map Herzog-Ernst-Bucht; Interpretation of Landsat-5 imagery; This map and the adjoining map "Glaciological Features Satellite Image Map 1:250 000 Filchnerschelfeis ST 21-24/12 and ST 25-28/9" (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10704947) both show the state of Filchnerschelfeis on 1 March 1986 when the ice shelf was still both-sided connected with the mainland coast in the east (Touchdown Hills, Coats Land) and in the west (Berkner Island), three months before the break-off of two giant tabular icebergs happened (one of them numbered 23A which was grounded in the Weddell Sea until December 2023).
