The model employed is the Community Atmospheric Model version 4 (CAM4), which is the atmospheric component of the Community Earth System Model (CESM) version 1.2.2. Further information to reproduce the aqua-planet simulation of CAM4 can be found at https://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/simple/fixed-sst-aqua#cam4. The dataset here includes monthly outputs of two sets of simulation, an idealized wave number-1 SST ("SST_WN1") and a more realistic SST ("SST_WN1-A").
