Description
Summary:Trichopteryx fastuosa Inoue (Fig. 27) Material examined. 1 ♀, S Kholmsk, 27.V.2020. Distribution. * Russia (S RFE: SW Sakhalin), Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu), China (Taiwan). Remarks. The finding of T. fastuosa in Sakhalin significantly expands its distribution range to the north. It is first true report of this species from Russia. Previous ones from the continental RFE (Beljaev 2006a: 45; Mironov et al. 2008: 226; Beljaev et al. 2010: 319; Vasilenko et al. 2013: 422) were based on a misidentification of T. inoei Hashimoto (see Beljaev 2016: 592). In Japan the known hostplants of the species are Fagus crenata (Fagaceae) and Carpinus japonica (Betulaceae), both absent in Sakhalin. Possibly, here its larvae can feed on Quercus mongolica subsp. crispula (Fagaceae) or the other leaved trees. ... : Published as part of Beljaev, Еvgeniy A. & Titova, Olga L., 2023, New data on geometroid moths (Lepidoptera: Geometroidea: Uraniidae and Geometridae) from Sakhalin and Moneron islands with notes on their taxonomy distribution and ecology, pp. 1-41 in Zootaxa 5369 (1) on page 17, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5369.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/10147411 ...
