Der er formuleret følgende tre generelle formål med denne undersøgelse: 1) for det første tager den sigte på at gennemføre en totalbeskrivelse (socialt og pædagogisk) af en hel årsgeneration af unge mennesker (elever på 8. klassetrin) i en afgrænset, men mest muligt karakteristisk region af Jylland. 2) dernæst har undersøgelsen et komparativt sigte, idet den er tilrettelagt for, at der skal kunne gennemføres en række sammenlignende analyser med unge i tilsvarende regioner i henholdsvis Vest-Norge og Island. 3) for det tredie har undersøgelsen som formål at danne et empirisk grundlag for et systematisk forløbsstudium af den afgørende udvikling, som finder sted fra 14-15 års alderen og frem til 17-18 års alderen. Spørgeskemaet er opdelt i en række hovedgrupper: ''Oplysninger om dig selv'': baggrundsvariable såsom køn, alder, vægt, fars og mors sociale status (kodet på baggrund af en række spørgsmål, der desværre ikke direkte kan genfindes i datafilen), hvordan familien bor; ''Spørgsmål om skolen og ... : The survey has three general purposes: #1) It attempts to describe, socially and pedagogically, a whole generation, or cohort, of young people in a well-defined, characteristic region in central Jutland. The survey population consists of the pupils in the 8th form of all primary schools in Silkeborg. #2) Similar surveys containing information about young people living in similar regions in West Norway and Iceland, respectively, were planned at the same time, so the survey also has comparative purposes, which are reflected in the structure of the survey. #3) Finally, the survey material will be used as the empirical basis of a systematic study of the extremely important development which young people experience in their teens, from the age of 14 or 15 to the age of 17 or 18. #The questionnaire deals with a number of issues which have been grouped together: #'Information about yourself': background variables such as sex, age, weight, social status of father and mother (coded on the basis of a number of ...
