In each plot, the length of the leaves of six tagged Eriophorum vaginatum tillers were measured. Because leaves senesce from the tip, both total leaf length and green leaf length were measured. Data were collected every 10 days over the growing season in 1995-1999 and 2000. In 2001, data were collected only at peak season. These data were not collected in 1999.
