Арктический пояс бассейна реки Яны занимает территорию 10,2 тыс. км2 и включает дельту реки протяженностью от устья 143 км, с расположенными в ней 20,1 тыс. озер общей площадью 1350 км2. Водоемы арктической зоны бассейна реки Яны играют важную роль в формировании фауны туводных, полупроходных и проходных рыб. Ихтиофауна водной биоты этого участка речного бассейна включает 21 вид с подвидами, из них свыше 70 % в промышленном рыболовстве составляют рыбы семейства Coregonidae. Зоопланктон в реке представлен в основном кладоцерами и неполовозрелыми стадиями веслоногих ракообразных, при общей биомассе 0,016 мг/м3; в озерах численность и биомасса колебались в пределах от 2840–202000 экз./м3 и 20,19–1759,2 мг/м3. Речной зообентос представлен в основном олигохетами, моллюсками, личинками хирономид, при общей биомассе 96,58 г/м3, в озерах общая биомасса организмов зообентоса составляет 44,28 г/м2. Lakes of the Arctic zone of the Yana basin play an important role in the formation of the fauna of aquatic, semi-anadromous, and anadromous fish. The ichthyofauna of the aquatic biota of this section of the river basin includes 21 species with subspecies, of which more than 70% in commercial fishing are fish of the Coregonidae. Zooplankton in the river is mainly represented by cladocera and immature stages of copepods, with a total biomass of 0.016 mg/m3; in lakes, the abundance and biomass ranged from 2840-202000 ind./m3 and 20.19-1759.2 mg/m3.
