This intensive survey recorded 20 new archeological sites and enlarged the dimensions on 4 sites previously recorded by Gerstle et al. (1978). These 24 sites consist of 22 prehistoric sites and 2 historic military sites. It is recommended that one of the prehistoric sites, 41BX1220, be considered potentially eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places pending test excavations. This site consists of a burned rock midden containing two small mounds. The site appears to represent a minimally disturbed occupation dating to the Late Archaic period and contains buried deposits with contextual integrity. The remaining 21 prehistoric sites and the 2 historic military sites are recommended as being ineligible for listing in the National Register. ...
