Guided by the Lancet Framework “The components of an enabling environment for breastfeeding—a conceptual model” this dissertation advances the evidence base on the best practice interventions that can enable an environment that supports breastfeeding mothers. The framework outlines three determinants (Structural, Setting, and Individual) that are associated with evidence-based interventions that, if implemented, have a high likelihood of increasing EBF rates. The primary focus of this thesis is to explore the best practice interventions associated with one of three determinants: the Setting.
