W artykule zawarto wyniki badań przeprowadzonych na wybrzeżu północno- -zachodniej części Ziemi Wedela Jarlsberge na Spitsbergenie. Ich celem było określenie tempa oraz intensywności przekształcania się strefy brzegowej. Wykazano, że zależą one przede wszystkim od charakteru rozwijających się pokryw lodowych i ich deglacjacji. Stwierdzono też, że zasadnicze przemodelowanie strefy brzegowej miało miejsce w czasie zlodowaceń o charakterze ponadregionalnym. Nie bez znaczenia dla brzegów południowego obramowania Bellsundu były również epizody glacjalne holocenu, niekiedy o charakterze szarży. Dotyczy to wyłącznie przedpoli duŜych lodowców, które miały lub mają ujście w fiordzie. : The coast of NW part of the Wedel Jarlsberg Land is exposed to various morphogenetical factors. One of the most important can be numbered among glaciers that can influence directly (destruction and transform of existing forms of relief, accumulation of moraine covers) and indirectly (with the cooperation of different factors: tectonic, fluvial, marine). The speed and intensity of shores formation depends mainly on character of developing ice covers and their deglaciation. Fundamental remodelling of shore zone occurred during the glaciations of transregional character. Structures and erosive features as well as accumulative inscribed permanently into the coast relief. In many cases influenced the course of the other processes, especially marine. The Holocene glacial episodes were of essential importance for formation of shores, even sometimes of the surge character. Yet their direct role marked and still marks now only locally on the forefield of large glaciers, which have their mouths in the fiord (Recherche, Renard). Smaller glaciers like Scott and Cramer participate indirectly in formation of the coast by delivery of material to the shore zone. : Nr 4 (2007): Słupskie Prace Geograficzne, 157-169
