Die Insel Magerøya, deren nördlichster Punkt das Nordkapp bildet, ist geprägt von einer rauen und ursprünglichen Natur. Ein schroffes Felsplateau, das mehr als dreihundert Meter über der aufbrausenden Brandung des Nordpolarmeers hinausragt und dessen Permafrostboden nur von einer dünnen Schicht Gräser und Flechten bedeckt ist. Bei Regen ein fast schwarzer, zerklüfteter Felsen, der partiell von Braun- und Grüntönen überzogen ist und in der weißen Gischt der rauen See zu liegen kommt. In den Abendstunden der Monate um den Jahreswechsel von September bis März ist er die Bühne für ein imposantes und buntes Naturschauspiel: die grün bis violett flackernden und tanzenden Polarlichter. Eine durch elektrisch geladene Teilchen des Sonnenwindes hervorgerufene Leuchterscheinung am Himmel die in 3 bis 6 Breitengrade umfassenden Bändern in der Nähe der Magnetpole – also am Nordkapp - auftreten. Beeindruckt vom Ort und der rauen Natur soll hier ein Platz entstehen, der eine Zuflucht bildet, Auskunft gibt und auch die Loge für die Betrachtung der Natur und deren besonderer Präsenz an diesem Ort bilden soll.Es entsteht ein Anlaufpunkt, der Informationen über die Geschichte der Region, die Flora und Fauna als auch die künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Ort, der Gesellschaft und den Naturerscheinungen sammelt und den Interessierten zugänglich macht - ein Platz, der auch zum Verweilen und Genießen, vielleicht sogar zum Bleiben, einlädt. : The island of Magerøya, with the famous North Cape at its tip is characterised by wild and pristine nature. It is a rugged, rocky plateau that rises more than three hundred metres above the roaring surf of the Arctic Ocean, with permafrost soil, only covered by a thin layer of grass and lichen. When it rains, the island appears as an almost black, jagged rock, partially covered in various shades of brown and green, that seems to be lying dead in the rough seas.In the evening hours of the months around the turn of the year from September to March it is a stage for an impressive and colourful natural spectacle: the green to violet flickering and dancing northern lights. A glowing phenomenon in the sky caused by electrically charged particles of the solar wind which appear in 3 to 6 latitudes wide bands near the magnetic poles - i.e. on the North Cape. Impressed by the place and its untamed nature,this should become a place of refuge, of reference, and a loge dedicated to the observation of the elements and their special presence at this location. A point of attraction will be created, which harbours information about the history of the region, the flora and fauna, as well as artistic interpretations of this place, society and natural phenomenas. A place that shall invite to linger, to relish, and maybe even a place to stay.
