The article discusses demographic and health indicators in the main oil region of the Russian Federation - the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra at the beginning of the XXI century. Information is provon the volume of oil production, on the population and demographic indicators, the share of economically active population employed in the extractive sector. Shows the general incidence of the population and the classes of the most common diseases. The effect of morbidity on life ex- pectancy and premature mortality of the working-age population is noted.
