The article discusses the geography and history of the penetration and popularization of tea on the territory of European Russia in the XVI-XIX centuries. The features of the introduction of tea trade and the culture of tea drinking in the Russian North are discussed. The relevance of the implementation of the tourism project The Great Tea Road in Siberia and the Russian North is shown. The current state and prospects for the development of various types of tourism on the route of the ancient Tea Road from China to Russia are discussed.
