Reservoirs had different dominant species and low overall community similarity. Rotifers were dominant only in unstable, short retention-time reservoirs. Reservoirs with longer retention-times had microcrustacean communities with calanoid copepods most abundant. Intensive sampling of Mt Bold Reservoir demonstrated extremely rapid changes in the rotifer community. ... |
