The model configuration is based on the Nucleus for European Modelling of the Ocean (NEMO; https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1464816) code version 3.6, in combination with the Louvain la Neuve Ice Model (LIM2; https://doi.org/10.1029/97JC00480). The global domain at 1/4° resolution (ORCA025; https://doi.org/10.1007/s10236-006-0082-1) embeds the eddy-rich 1/20° nest using the two-way nesting technique Adaptive Grid Refinement In Fortran (AGRIF; https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cageo.2007.01.009).
