The data set clouds sampled during the Southern Ocean Clouds, Radiation, Aerosol Transport Experimental Study (SOCRATES) field campaign, where the 2D-S was flown aboard the NSF/National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Gulfstream V (G-V) aircraft.
