Description
Summary:This data set was acquired with a ship-based Atlas Hydrosweep DS Multibeam Sonar system during Maurice Ewing expedition EW0007 conducted in 2000 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Brian Tucholke). These data files are of MBSystem format and include Swath Bathymetry and Acoustic Backscatter data and were processed by the GMRT Team using the open source MB-System multibeam sonar processing software as part of the GMRT Synthesis effort. These data are included in the GMRT Synthesis, version 2.0. Data were acquired as part of the project(s): Crustal Structure and Evolution of the Newfoundland-Iberia Non-Volcanic Rift: A Seismic Study of the Newfoundland Conjugate Margin, ODP Site Survey (Leg 210), and Studies of Continental Rifting and Extension on the Eastern Canadian Shelf (SCREECH) - 2-ship operations with R/V Oceanus, and funding was provided by NSF grant(s): OCE02-41940, OCE98-19053, and OCE98-19599.
