Summary: | This dataset contains the discrete bottle (CTD profile) data of the only cruise that took place in the US Arctic during the 2020 COVID-19 related field work shutdown. The cruise took place from October 15, 2020 to November 19, 2020 aboard the R/V Sikuliaq, departing from and returning to Seward, AK. 148 casts were occupied in the Bering and Chukchi Seas around Alaska. At all stations, CTD casts were conducted, and discrete water samples were collected in Niskin bottles. The cruise was part of the project entitled “Monitoring the Western Arctic Boundary Current in a Warming Climate: Atmospheric Forcing and Oceanographic Response”, funded by the National Science Foundation as part of the Arctic Observing Network (AON) to Robert Pickart at WHOI. A number of ancillary projects were also carried out taking advantage of a ship of opportunity during the COVID-19 shutdown. The marine carbonate data to investigate ocean acidification were collected as an ancillary project to visit the Distributed Biological ... |
