The name is taken from the Wollotuka Cultural Standards and represents “Respect and Honouring- which is the hallmark of strong relationships and action. Ngarralin marrung was created on the land of the Pambalong Clan of the Awabakal People at The Wollotuka Institute’s Giyi Para Cultural Symposium in November 2022. Giyi Para provided an opportunity to connect with Aboriginal cultures, knowledges and practices through song-making, art-making and language-learning – a pivotal step in the reconciliation journey of many. This artwork honours the power of working in partnership and combining knowledges – Indigenous and non-Indigenous – to address emerging issues and drive positive impacts for our regions and their communities.
