This paper explores mythological folk beliefs about weddings of the forest spirit (leshy). It was believed that rapid moving of their wedding coaches or sleighs crushed everything in its path and formed windbreaks in a forest. In this regard, the folk ideas about special roads along which the forest spirits walk in forests are considered, as well as about a strong wind that accompanies a walking or driving leshy. These are predominantly Russian beliefs, rituals, and customs, but they are also inherent in other peoples of Russia – for example, Udmurts, Komi-Zyrians, Komi-Permyaks, Mordovians, etc. Historical, ethnographic, and folklore sources used in this paper date back to the 19th–20th centuries. Particular attention is paid to the Russian North and the Vyatka region. Source materials are studied in the historical and anthropological context. The participants of ... : В статье исследуются мифологические представления о свадьбах у леших. Считалось, что быстрое движение их свадебных поездов сокрушало все на своем пути, образуя буреломы. В связи с этим обращено внимание на народные поверья об особых дорогах, по которым в лесу ходит леший, и о сильном ветре, который сопутствует лешему при его движении. Это преимущественно русские поверья, обряды и обычаи, но они встречаются также у других народов России – например, удмуртов, коми-зырян, коми-пермяков, мордвы и др. Использованные в статье исторические, этнографические, фольклорные источники относятся к XIX–XX вв. Особое внимание уделено Русскому Северу и Вятскому краю. Материалы источников рассмотрены и изучены в историко-антропологическом контексте.
