: To date, about a dozen monuments of cave paintings have been identified on the territory of the Arctic and northern regions of Yakutia. They are localized in the basins of the Olenyok and Indigirka rivers, although there is unverified information about the presence of scribbles on the upper Yana and the lower reaches of the Lena. In the Olenek basin, 5 points with cave paintings were identified. These are the sanctuaries of Tangaralaah (Mayynda), Seveki (Kirbey) and Kuoyka, where, in addition to drawings, altars with various offerings were revealed, as well as the Iichen Chierege and Ikkis Appa scribbles. Four scribbles were found in the Indigir river basin: Tomtor (Mount Ebe), Malotarynskaya, Bakirkichan and Suturuokha. Judging by the style and plots of parietal art in the Arctic and northern regions of Yakutia, the numerical dominance of anthropomorphic characters in them, including images of shamans, the main layer of scribbles dates from the late Neolithic to the era of early metals and the Middle Ages. Proper scientific study will help to reconstruct the spiritual culture of the ancient inhabitants of the region. In addition, systematic studies of the territories of the Yakut Arctic have many prospects in terms of identifying new areas where petroglyphs could be found.
