Fish and zooplankton condition metrics from Arctic IES collections in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas during 2017-2019 and fish condition metrics from ASGARD collections in the Chukchi Sea during 2017-2018

These data are part of the Arctic IES and ASGARD program components of the Arctic Integrated Ecosystem Research Program (IERP), sponsored by the North Pacific Research Board (NPRB), Collaborative Alaskan Arctic Studies Program (formerly the North Slope Borough/Shell Baseline Studies Program), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), and the Office of Naval Research Marine Mammals and Biology Program. This dataset describes fish and zooplankton energetic data from samples collected during the ASGARD and Arctic IES cruises of NPRB's Arctic Integrated Ecosystem Research Program in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Priority fish species (gadids, salmon, forage fish, and flatfish) were retained from every station they were caught if sample sizes were great enough to share among PIs. Zooplankton for energetics analysis were retained by the Rapid Zooplankton Assessment (RZA) team, and were identified to RZA groupings. Energetics metrics were measured on whole fish in the analytical chemistry laboratories at the Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute in Juneau Alaska. Fish condition metrics include 1) energy density (kJ/g wet mass), 2) % moisture, 3) % lipid (wet mass) , and 4) % protein. Percent lipid (dry mass) of zooplankton was measured. Data are archived in two separate csv files for the fish and zooplankton.
