В статье рассматриваются традиционные представления юкагиров о Вселенной и её многочисленных хозяевах — добрых и злых духах Природы, управляющих жизнью на Земле. Под природой у юкагиров понимаются все одушевлённые существа и неодушевлённые объекты. К их числу относятся птицы, животные, рыбы и другие живые существа, лес, горы, реки и поля, на территории которых обитают люди, а также небо с солнцем, луной и многочисленными звёздами. Всё это юкагиры называют одним словом — Пен (Пон), которое на русский язык можно перевести как «Природа». Юкагиры, разделяя Вселенную на три уровня — Верхний, Средний и Нижний миры, — особое внимание уделяют Среднему, или земному, миру. Этот мир населялся хозяевами разных стихий. По мнению этноса, в Среднем, или земном, мире существовало три основных хозяина: Хозяин земли — Лэбиэн-Погиль, Хозяин пресной воды — Одьин-Погиль и Хозяин моря — Чобун-Погиль. Всеми другими хозяевами природы управляли основные хозяева земного мира. В подчинении Хозяина земли находились хозяева тайги, ... : The paper discusses the traditional ideas of the Yukagirs about the universe and its numerous masters — good and evil spirits of Nature, who control life on Earth. The Yukagirs understand nature as all animate beings and inanimate objects. They include birds, animals, fish, etc., forests, mountains, rivers and where people live as well as the sky with the sun, moon and numerous stars. The Yukagirs call all that by one word: Pen (Pon), which can be translated into Russian as “Nature”. The Yukagirs, dividing the universe into three levels — the Upper, Middle and Lower worlds — pay special attention to the Middle or earthly world. This world was inhabited by the Masters of different elements. According to the ethnic group, there were three main masters in the Middle or earthly world: the Master of the earth — Labien-Pogil, the Master of fresh water — Odin-Pogil and the Master of the sea — Chobun-Pogil.
