В статье на примере истории иконы «Богоматерь Прибавление Ума» обсуждается проблема связи душевного и духовного неблагополучия. Икона получила широкое распространение на Северо-Западе России (в частности, около Ярославля находится церковь с «чудотворным» списком иконы). Несмотря на исторические корни образа, уходящие в г. Назарет и, далее, в Италию, — в России Икона приобрела новые смыслы и известность. В российской культуре (помимо увеличения «книжного знания», характерного, скорее, для европейского прочтения) проявились такие смыслы концепта «прибавление ума», как обретение душевного (психического) здоровья, единение (обретение целостности) ума и сердца, причастность знания человека к «божественному откровению». : The paper deals with the relations between mental and spiritual ill-being on the example of the history of Mother of God "Enlightening". The icon became widely popular in the North-Western Russia (thus, there is a church with a "miraculous" list of the icon near Yaroslavl). In spite of the historical roots of the image that trace back to Nazareth and further to Italy, the icon acquired new meanings and popularity in Russia. The Russian culture (apart from increased "bookish knowledge", which is rather typical for the European interpretation) created such meanings of the "enlightening" concept as acquiring mental health, integrity (wholeness) of mind and heart, and participation of human knowledge in the "divine revelation".
