Das Untersuchungsgebiet (Wrangell Island) gehört zu Südost-Alaska mit temperiertem, immergünem Regenwald, in dem auch viele Moore zu finden sind. Dort wurde ein Moorkomplex (muskeg) anhand von vegetationskundlichen Aufnahmen nach der Methode von Braun-Blanquet untersucht. Darin dominieren Zwergsträucher, Hemikryptophyten und Moose. Insgesamt wurden vier Vegetationstypen aufgrund von Oberflächenstrukturen und Artenzusammensetzung unterschieden: deckenmoorähnliche Strukturen, Bultstrukturen, teppichartige Matten oder flache Schlenken und Schlenken. ... : The visited Wrangell Island is situated in Southeast-Alaska, covered with temperate coniferious rainforests.
