The life path of a talented organizer, leader, scientist, mathematician is analyzed on the basis of memoirs, documents and published materials. The article deals the University activities in Yakutsk, Grozny and Kuiby-shev Pedagogical Institutes in 1940-1957. During the period of formation of the military and post-war recon-struction A.P. Efleev headed the work of the Yakutsk and then Grozny State Pedagogical Institutes. In 1951-1957 his scientific and pedagogical activity was connected with the Kuibyshev Pedagogical Institute, where he held the position of Deputy Director for scientific and educational work. Many tasks, sometimes seemingly unsolvable, in the development of education and the specific work of universities have been successfully solved by him. His great contribution and participation in the creation of the Soviet educational system, the success-ful operation of the above educational institutions is invaluable. The talent of the organizer and researcher, devotion to science, efficiency, deep decency left a huge memory in the hearts of its employees, as well as sev-eral bright pages in the history of Russian education.
