Климат Якутии резко континентальный: максимальная амплитуда средних температур самого холодного месяца (январь) и самого теплого (июль) составляет более 70°C. Почти вся территория Якутии представляет собой зону сплошной многовековой мерзлоты. Мощность мерзлого слоя достигает 1500 м — это максимальное промерзание горных пород на земном шаре. Здесь обитает якутская лошадь - самая северная лошадь на планете и, безусловно, самая устойчивая к холоду. Лошади круглый год живут под открытым небом, пасясь на скудной растительности. Якутия относится к регионам неблагополучным по лептоспирозу животных. Исходя из особенностей содержания лошадей и использования продукции коневодства в приготовлении национальных блюд в сыром виде, вопросы профилактики и своевременного выявления лептоспироза особо актуальны. : The climate of Yakutia is severely continental: the maximum amplitude of the average temperatures of the coldest month (January) and the warmest (July) is more than 70 °C. Almost the entire territory of Yakutia is a zone of continuous centuries-old permafrost. The thickness of the frozen layer reaches 1500 m — this is the maximum freezing of rocks on the globe. This territory is the habitat of the Yakutian — the northernmost horse on the planet, the most resistant to cold. These horses live in the open air all year round and graze on the territories with sparse vegetation. Yakutia belongs to the regions with widespread animal leptospirosis.
