Summary:Methods development as part of this study focuses exclusively on Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit from the Baker Lake Basin in this first year of the program. This phase (one) of the One Voice project has focused on identifying and analyzing the existing sources of documented and available Traditional Knowledge and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit related to the watershed of Baker Lake including that pertaining to water quantity, quality and flow, fish species and fishing livelihoods and other aquatic life. Existing documents describing traditional knowledge assessments of the freshwater environment in the Baker Lake Basin and Hudson Bay ("Voices from the Bay") were reviewed. Interviews with key Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit holders were conducted to document observations of the aquatic environment, and Verify previously documented information with current local experts.
