Petermann Fjord Sediment Core Paleomagnetic Data (OD1507), 2016-2017

Paleomagnetic data collected on Petermann Fjord sediment cores, OD1507 04 Gravity Core (GC), 40 Trigger Core (TC), and 41GC, from the PETERMANN15 expedition of the Swedish Icebreaker Oden during 2016-2017. Data were collected on u-channel samples at the Oregon State University Paleo- and Environment...

Data were collected on u-channel samples at the Oregon State University Paleo- and Environmental Magnetism Laboratory on a 2-G Enterprises u-channel optimized superconducting rock magnetometer. A Paleomagnetic Secular Variation (PSV) stack of the inclination and declination of the three cores was constructed and compared to the Western Hemisphere Arctic PSV template (WHAP18) to help constrain the chronology of the Petermann Fjord sediment cores. These data can also be used to study the Holocene geomagnetic history of the Arctic. Data are discussed and documented by Reilly et al. (2019). _Pmag_Data.csv files include Characteristic Remanent Magnetization (ChRM) declination and inclination, and Natural Remanent Magnetization (NRM) intensity before after sequential alternating field demagnetization. Missing data in the 'Edgeless Depth (cm)' column removes intervals with unreliable data near core edges. Missing data in the 'Clean Depth (cm)' column also removes intervals with unreliable data related to sediment disturbance or ice rafted debris. PetermannFjord-PSV-Stack_and_WHAP18-PSV-Stack.csv file includes the inclination and declination stack for the Petermann Fjord cores, 04GC, 40TC, and 41GC, and the inclination and declination for the WHAP18 Template.
