Arctic Ocean Solar Heating

The primary data files consist of date, grid information, incident shortwave irradiance [from ERA-40 reanalysis (1979 - 2002) and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) (2003 -- 2008)], ice concentration from passive microwave observations interpreted using the National Aeron...

The region of interest includes the Central Arctic and peripheral seas. Data is on a 25 x 25 km Equal-Size Scalable Earth (EASE) grid. Daily values are reported at each grid cell from 1979 to 2008. The data file structure is monthly netcdf files with daily data. *****These data were compiled in conjunction with the Sunlight and the Arctic atmosphere-ice-ocean system (Synthesis of Arctic System Science, SASS) project.***** Data Citation: Eicken, H., R.
